In my courses, students develop the skills and knowledge they need to be both engaged citizens in their communities and thought leaders in their careers. My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that students learn best when they are engaged, encouraged to participate, and supported in their efforts to learn and grow alongside their peers. Taking students from a “me” mindset to a “we” mindset, I foster a collaborative learning environment where students are encouraged to work together, directly engage with one another's ideas, and ultimately take both individual and collective ownership of their learning. In these ways, students learn to value a range of perspectives and appreciate the importance of working together to achieve a common goal.
