Originally from Minnesota, I studied Political Science and History at Gustavus Adolphus College, graduating with a B.A. in 2018. Shortly thereafter, I moved out to the Rocky Mountains and began my graduate studies in Political Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I earned my M.A. in 2020, and my Ph.D. in 2024. While finishing my dissertation, I spent the final year of my graduate studies (2023-'24) as a visiting lecturer at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. I joined the faculty at the University of Central Florida in the fall of 2024.
Before I became a professor, I worked in government and politics in a few different capacities. All throughout college, I worked part-time for my local government. Later on, I spent time serving on legislative campaigns at both the state and federal levels. More recently, I have worked in politics in non-partisan capacities, consulting for interest groups and contributing to research-driven initiatives examining how social and economic policies shape civic engagement, perceptions of institutional legitimacy, and trust in government.
